At only two months before the dealine there’s not a single entry to the competition.
Nevertheless, we’re here, fingers crossed, wainting for a massive last minute flood of submissions
If you wanted to participate but desisted for some reason (too extrict rules, lack of participation stimulus), we would like to hear your suggestions and opinions.
Obviously the rules are too wide to take the contest seriously.
The contest should be limited to one platform or similar platforms, otherwise no one will send a MSX demo because there could be an Amiga demo, also a small Commodore 64 game can be easily surpassed by PC.
Also for demos it is important to limit size.
And last but nor least, there are no prizes
Thanks for the reply alecdo.
I don’t think the loose platform restrictions as an issue here.
Creativity, originality and production quality weights more than the technical capabilities of any particular platform.
There have been several ocassions where a C64 productions win graphic, demo o music compos, leaving behind Amiga and PC productions. Same for MSX demos and wild compos.
Size limit for demos is a good idea, I had overlooked that.
The demo competition rules states that it should be a single file demo, but no size limit, therefore an Amiga, Atari ST or PC demo could be several megabytes in size.
Lastly, prizes is big issue, I will work harder to try and get some sponsorship for next year.
Again, thanks for your input.
