Games: Memotest by Alakran

memotest1Eight months after releasing the preview of Memotest, Alakran has finished the work on his game.

Memotest is a concentration/pairs style game for the Commodore 64 written entirely in BASIC v2.

The game features graphics and sound, with both an intro and end of game screens, intro music and sound effects.

There’s 8 different card sets to choose from:

  1. Video Games
  2. Vegetables
  3. Technology logos
  4. Argentine soccer teams
  5. Music bands
  6. Sci-fi/Comics
  7. Chinese characters
  8. Dots

The game source is compiled using Austro compiler and graphic and musical data linked in with Masters’ Design Group Packer & Linker.

F1: Toggle  joystick or lightpen. If playing under VICE, select Datel lightpen emulation.

F3: Load a new set of cards

F5: Shows best time and program notes.

F7: Play. Press F7 again during game to return to the menu screen.

Games: Ahorcado 64 by Christian Santamaría

ahorcado1Christian Santamaría joins the competition with his version for the Commodore 64 of the classic game Hangman.
There is five categories of words to choose from and the game allows the player up to six wrong guesses.

The game and all the words are in Spanish.

Games: A Romp in the Garden ported to Coco/Dragon

Jim Gerrie has send the CoCo 2/3 – Dragon 32/64 port of his game A Romp in the Garden. He also have improved the keyboard handling in all his CoCo/Dragon  ports and fixed a bug on The Doctor’s Adventure on Scaro port.

The updated archive features ( outside the competition)the game Pipe Frenzy, Jim’s entry to The CoCo Coding Contest, an online contest running right now.

Games: Jim Gerrie ports 4 of his games to the Tandy CoCo

crawlJim Gerrie with help from his son Charlie have ported four of his games to the Tandy Coco 2/3 and Dragon 32/64.

The ported games are: Dungeon Crawl, The Doctor’s Adventure on Scaro, Penguino and Battle Bots.

 

The archive contains a disk image with the 4 games (.dsk) and the programming notes in text format.
